The picture below is the caboose of the short line railroad which ran from Golden to Grand Saline to bring coal for processing of salt

The building to the right of the cabooses is the Historic Depot. It now contains a library and Civic Center

The picture on the top right is of the salt flats behind Morton Salt . There are plants , birds and animals that are only found on the coast.
